Videotel launches online access to its award-winning training courses

Videotel Marine International has launched Courses on the Web, providing both companies and individuals with 24-hour-a-day online access to its award-winning training courses. While the programmes retain all their original features such as video, interactive tests, workbook exercises and full audio narration, their online format offers students additional features, such as the ability to view progress and access course updates and information online.

Videotel courses offer a comprehensive and stimulating form of training and encourage learning through practical activities that incorporate the student's surroundings. Furthermore, they allow learning at an individual pace and at flexible times.

The following courses are now available online:

° Safety Officer
° Incident Investigation: Analysis and Reporting
° GMDSS
° Environmental Officer
° Shipboard Security Officer

More courses for online access are to follow.

Raal Harris, Head of Multimedia and Project Developer, Videotel Marine International, says: "We live in a world where we must follow the different directions in which new inventions, discoveries and climates lead us. Continual developments in technology are changing the way we work, making tasks easier and information more readily available. Here at Videotel Marine International we understand the need to keep up with these changes and are delighted to be able to offer our popular courses online".

The courses Safety Officer, Incident Investigation: Analysis and Reporting and Environmental Officer are accredited by the Nautical Institute and have full Panama Maritime Authority approval. The Shipboard Security Officer course is approved by the UK's Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) as well as by the Panama Maritime Authority.

Videotel's training initiatives have received widespread recognition in terms of both practical content and production standards. The course Safety Officer was awarded a certificate for Creative Excellence by the US International Film and Video Festival. Incident Investigation: Analysis and Reporting recently received the Silver Remi Award at WorldFest Houston, USA, as well as the Award for Excellence in the Multimedia & Interactive Publications category at the Apex Awards 2007 (Awards for Publication Excellence).
