UNIT45

UNIT45 specialises in the sale and lease of 45ft pallet-wide containers in Europe. The company started business in 2002 and is privately owned, the shareholders being mainly investment holding companies.

UNIT45 is a leading proponent of the 45ft intermodal concept and estimates its market share of 45ft dry box containers sold in Europe to be around 60%. UNIT45 expects to produce around 7,000 units in 2007. Approximately 60% of this production is direct sales and the remaining production is sold through operational lease and rental contracts, which in most cases have a purchase option at the end of the contract.

UNIT45 focuses solely on meeting the container equipment requirements of European shortsea / intermodal transport operators. It offers a range of products including:

° 45ft dry box containers including a car carrier version;

° all-electric and diesel-electric 45ft reefer containers, including double-stack and dual compartment designs;

° 45ft curtain-sided container (one-side or two-sides open);

° 45ft open top container;

° 45ft, 30ft and 20ft bulk containers.

UNIT45's forward strategy is based on there being a continuing intermodal shift from road to rail, sea and inland waterways during the next decade and beyond.

UNIT45 has a broad based client portfolio that includes most of the leading names in the European intermodal market including ECS, 2XL, Eucon, Transfennica, BG Freight, Samskip, Versteijnen Logistics, Centrum Transport and HZ Transport.
