Rickmers Reederei

Rickmers Reederei is one of Germany's foremost shipowners with a fleet of over 70 vessels, most of which are chartered out long- and medium-term to many of the world's leading shipping companies.

The origins of Rickmers Reederei are to be found in Bremerhaven where R C Rickmers established a shipyard in 1834. Following three decades of successful shipbuilding, R C Rickmers also established a shipping company which has traded continuously since that date.

In 1984, the family's shipping activities, now into the fifth generation, were consolidated under the leadership of Bertram R C Rickmers, thus establishing the Rickmers shipping company as we know it today. Including vessels on order, the current fleet numbers over 70 containerships, multi-purpose vessels and conbulkers, Rickmers-Linie is one of the world's leading specialists in global sea transportation of project and heavy lift cargo.
