Rickmers-Linie

Hamburg-based Rickmers-Linie is one of the world's leading specialists in global sea transportation of project and heavy lift cargo.

With more than 170 years to its name, Rickmers-Linie now provides a world-wide network of liner services for the transportation of breakbulk, project and individual heavy lift pieces.

In April 2003, the German liner company inaugurated its innovative Round-the-World "Pearl String Service" with its unique concept offering fortnightly sailings, fast transit times and reliable schedules.

The Pearl String Service would not be unique without its brand new fleet of nine state-of-the-art Superflex Multipurpose Carrier vessels, the last of which, Rickmers Genoa, joined the company in early spring 2004. These vessels have an identical layout, with adjustable tweendecks, dehumidifying devices in all holds, a maximum service speed of 19.5 knots and a heavy-lift capacity of up to 640 tons when combining their twin 320 ton cranes.

While the Pearl String Service links Europe, Asia and North America, Rickmers-Linie also provides a regular North Europe - Middle East/India project liner service and subject to customer demand, direct sailings from the US to Asia, the Middle East and India.

Rickmers also offers project management services including the charter of vessels to transport cargo between the most appropriate loading and discharge ports anywhere in the world.
