18 May 2011: Captain Wojciech Kucz, the master of Maersk Elba, had the honour of showing Donald Tusk, the Prime Minister of Poland, around his vessel in the Port of Gdansk. Maersk Elba is the biggest containership ever to call in a Polish port. 18 May 2011: The 13,092TEU Maersk Elba became the largest container ship to enter a Baltic port when she berthed at the DCT Gdansk terminal.

1 February 2011: Frank Bünte has joined the Management Board of the Rickmers Group as Chief Treasury and Risk Officer. 22 February 2011:The Rickmers Group has taken delivery in Korea of two more 13,100TEU vessels. Leo Rickmers was named by Manuela Steffens, wife of Jan Boje Steffens, CEO and Managing Partner of Rickmers Holding while Joan Engelstoft, wife of Morten Engelstoft, Senior Vice President and COO of Maersk Line, named Scorpio Rickmers. The Rickmers-owned Hyundai Masan loads in Shanghai for her maiden voyage. She has been chartered for eight years to Hyundai Merchant Marine for its Far East - Middle East Gulf service.

Representatives of Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) and of the Rickmers Group, together with the sponsor Ms Ji-Yi Chung, Executive Vice President of HMM, gathered in the port of Masan, South Korea, to christen the 30,000dwt Hyundai Masan.
16 August 2010: The Rickmers-owned 13,100TEU vessel Maersk Edinburgh spent just 21 hours under the gantry cranes at Hamburg's Burchardkai Terminal. 16 August 2010: In a small ceremony on board Maersk Edinburgh, Hamburg Port Captain Jörg Pollmann presented Captain Jerzy Priadka with the Admiralty coat-of-arms of the Port of Hamburg in commemoration of his vessel's maiden call. Furthermore he wished the ship and its crew welcome to Hamburg. Seen on the bridge wing after the ceremony are: Holger Strack, Managing Director of Rickmers Reederei; Jerzy Priadka, Captain of Maersk Edinburgh; Jens Lassen, Head of Global Shipmanagement of Rickmers Group and Managing Director of Rickmers Reederei; and Hamburg's Port Captain, Jörg Pollmann.
