It's back to school as engine room sales power PC Maritime

PC Maritime, a member of the Charente Group, is enjoying bullish worldwide sales of its marine engine room training software to maritime training establishments, helping to develop the next generation of seafarers and maritime professionals. Six orders worth about £90,000 have been signed in the first quarter of 2007 from a mix of new and existing customers, with substantial business coming from Latin America, USA, Ireland, the Middle East and Asia.

Especially pleasing for Mike Dunstall, PC Maritime's Sales Manager are the repeat and recommendation orders: "This batch of orders shows repeat orders in two cases, based on satisfaction with our products, and one on recommendation, with which we are extremely pleased," he says.

"The success of these products lies in the fact that they have been designed not by engineers but by educators who understand procedural training requirements and targets. Future plans for the library of engine room training software include working with an existing customer to provide Engine Room CBT in the Chinese language in order to open up the market in China."

The main sales are:

Petrobras, Brazil
Petrobras Transportes SA has procured seven Virtual Engine Room, seven Turbo Diesel and seven Engine Room CBT training packages as a donation to the CIAGA Merchant Navy Training School in Rio de Janeiro. This follows a similar donation to the CIABA Training School in Belem in 2004.

Dutch Caribbean Training Centre, Maracaibo, Venezuela
The Centre bought its first Medium Speed Engine Room system in 2006 and, based on its successful use, has now acquired a second MER unit.

Chevron, USA
Chevron Texaco has ordered five Virtual Engine Room units for Chevron's new purpose-built cadet training ship "Capricorn Voyager" - the first fleet vessel in a decade to include a dedicated deck and engineer cadet training deck.

BIM Regional Fisheries Centre, Cork
This fisheries training school has purchased Engine Room CBT at the recommendation of another college in Ireland.

UN-sponsored Gaza Training Centre, Middle East
Five units each of Virtual Engine Room, Medium Speed Engine Room, Turbo Diesel and Steam Engine Room have been supplied to the Gaza Training Centre.

Tung Kang Maritime & Fishery School, Taiwan
This Taiwan fishery training school has purchased its first Steam Engine Room and Engine Room CBT.

All products are supplied with instructor software as standard for use in standalone mode or in a classroom with instructor interaction. The engine models are based on generic engine room equipment, rather than being type-specific.
