Dunelm conferences
|
Dunelm organises conferences on topical issues. Its
first conference, in 2008, was based on the MAIB report into an incident
involving the shortsea containership Annabella, which experienced a container
stack collapse in the Baltic Sea. Although the stack collapse did not have any
serious consequences, the MAIB report highlighted a number of important issues
that were hotly debated by speakers and delegates at the conference.
Dunelm's conference in London on 29 June 2010
addressed misdeclared container weights. Most people in the maritime industry
believe container weights should be verified before loading on board a vessel.
The conference discussed the weighing of containers in ports and terminals and
the considerable problems involved.
