GreenCarrier International continues its expansion in
Finland
GreenCarrier International has acquired Hansa Seaways
Oy, a Finnish freight forwarder located in Helsinki.
On 1 June, Hansa Seaways will be merged into
GreenCarrier Finland to form a company strong both in air and sea transport,
explains Staffan Kjellberg, Managing Director, GreenCarrier International:
"GreenCarrier Finland was created in February
2009 by the renaming of FCS Logistics, a company we acquired in June 2008 and
which was already strong in the airfreight business. As its name suggests,
Hansa Seaways is predominantly active in the shipping sector with a broad range
of logistics services. Together they give us a solid foundation both in the air
and on the ocean."
Niklas Bärlund, currently Managing Director of
Hansa Seaways, will become Managing Director of GreenCarrier Finland on 1 June.
Hansa Seaways Oy was formed in 1986 as Hansa Shipping
and Transport following the merger of the liner agency Loadmarine with the
nvocc Cargo Link. Today it offers a wide range of logistical services for
export and import cargoes from/to Finland and Russia. As a liner agency, the
company represents OPDR, a leading container operator linking Northern Europe
with Iberia, North Africa and the Mediterranean.
GreenCarrier International is part of the Swedish
